I found mine on target.com for $13! It is a hand/immersion blender so it will not clutter my tiny dorm room. It had great reviews but I still have to put it to the test myself.
I have a black & decker juicer that I got for $30. It's perfect for me because I don't have a lot of room and I don't have a lot of money either.
Where did you find your black and decker juicer?
can it handle alot?
I don't have a juicer, but I have a Vita-Mix. Can I make the juice recipes in that? It liquifies everything, so I think it would just incluide extra fiber, not a bad thing right? Or is it bad for a detox?
Vitamix all the way! I just bought my through the QVC special the other day and can't wait for it to get here. I'll be making green smoothies every morning and also looking forward to making soups, peanut butter, tahini, and sorbet. So excited!

For anyone held back by the cost -- just think of it as health insurance because your intake of fruit and vegetables will go dramatically up.

Also, it's not just a blender. It's also a juicer and food processor.
How hard is it to wash the Vita-mix? I saw it online and it looks fabulous, if expensive. Our current blender is fine, but it's such a pain to clean that it really deters me. Who wants to take apart a blender with six different parts each morning, especially, when half of those have to be hand-washed? Ugh, not me!
Mine hasn't arrived yet but from what I understand you just add a drop of dishwashing liquid and water and let it run. Kind of like a built in dishwasher.. Nothing to take apart really.
The Vita-Mix is very easy to clean! After use, place 1/2 full with warm water, add a drop of dish detergent and place back on the motor, whirl for a couple of minutes, rinse well and you are ready for your next meal.
I use mine several times a day! Great for smoothies, dressings, soups and many other things. I have never regretted buying mine.
hi my husband got me a BlendTec blender for Christmas, we looked at both the VitaMix and BlendTec, both are great, but the BlendTec is a bit less expensive has a wider base so you don't need the plunger and it is shorter so it will fit under your counter, you can do both wet and dry in it.... my hubby loves it, he was making all kinds of drinks and smoothies. i am looking forward to making soups with it..... we also have a breville juicer which we love, easy to clean and i just love the plug.........
cheers

jane
THANKS! I'M REALLY FEELING THE BLEND TECH SINCE I SAW IT AT COSTCO

Ditto!! We love our BlendTec!  It makes excellent smoothies, sauces, dips, etc.  We make icecream probably once a week.  All we use is cream, sugar, vanilla, and frozen fruit.  We can have the good stuff with no preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, and other stuff we don't like.

We also love it for dry stuff.  We use it to grind whole coffee beans and flax.  We can't say enough good things about it!
