Hello Nancy. I am a vegan, so am fairly familiar with what we eat compared to vegetarians. Vegans don't eat any animal products at all - including meat, milk, cheese, eggs and honey. Veganism isn't only limited to diet. Vegans don't use any animal products either, including silk, wool, leather, lanolin and beeswax.

Vegetarians generally don't eat meat or gelatin or rennet. Some vegatarians are called lacto-vegetarians and will include milk (but not eggs) as part of their diet. Some vegetarians are called ovo-vegetarians and they include eggs (but not milk) in their diets. Then there are lacto-ovo vegetarians that include eggs and milk in their diet.

I know it can all sound a bit confusing. The main difference though is that vegans don't eat any animal products at all, and vegetarians can include animal products in their diets.

I hope this has helped!
