Group exercise is good to keep us motivated and its not as boring as the exercise alone may be. We don't get bored because of close social relationships with other companions.

Although I'm unfortunately not close enough to offer my companionship, I found myself in a similar situation less than a year ago and might be able to offer some support. I moved by myself a few months ago and didn't have any friends or a support system -- but like you, felt necessary to start getting back into an exercise routine. I joined a yoga studio for a few months but found it started not to fit in my budget. SO, my ultimate decision was to start getting into workout DVD's ( perfect for winter too, you never have to leave the house!). There's so many programs out there on the market so you just have to figure out what kind of exercises you enjoy doing and will stick with! I didn't want a program that was going to be the same boring routine over and over again so I really enjoy the Les Mills Pump videos.( Here's the link if you wanna check it out --Les Mills Pump Deluxe) It comes multiple DVD's so you can pick which workout you want to do and switch it up when you want something new. If that doesn't seem like something for you I would advise looking into other programs that you'd be interested in doing! It's harder to meet friends than most people realize. It's awkward to try to befriend a girl without seeming like you're hitting on them LOL! So in the meantime you can get yourself started on a workout routine and hopefully find a workout buddy in the coming weeks! Wishing you all the best in your new city, I know how ya feel!
