For those of you who participated in the month-long Whole Body Action Plan, it may be a challenge this month to keep up with the healthy habits you developed in January. Without daily emails and with less frequent blog posts from the community, how do you plan to keep up -- and improve upon -- the progress you made?
Here are a few suggestions from the Martha Stewart show, post-Action Plan:
I am over weight and diabetic. I have struggled with my health my whole life. Finding the time to eat right and not visit the local drive thru, has been a challenge for me. I believe it is the same for a lot of folks. In a perfect world I would eat organic home prepared meals every day all day....but ...that's just not possible! My tips that I would like to share are:
1) Set reasonable goals
2) If you have to eat fast food ...get a salad and water.
3) Eat lots of fiber and low glycemic snacks (My favorite is salba nutrition bars/they fill me up for hours)
4) Stay connected with others that share the same desire to improve (Just like this message board!)
I am happy to see people talkig about this product. I have been a salba user for 2 years. It has become a staple in my diet. With all of the benefits , I dont know why anyone would not use it. Just be careful...there is alot of contoversy over salba vs. chia. Do your homework...they are not the same. I dont just buy anything to put in my body and I have tried chia and the bag contained alot of other stuff that was NOT chia seed (dirt, twigs) This is a GREAT message board!
Hi Mary, I am Mary too. Where do you buy the Salba bars ans are the ok for diabetic's also do they have nuts seeds or corn as I cannot have that either, Thanks, Mary
Hi Mary, here is the website for Salba -- it has a store finder so you can find somewhere near you that sells Salba bars, or you can order them online. Some of the bars have nuts, others just have fruit -- but salba itself is a seed so if you are allergic you may want to check with your doctor to see if they're okay. http://www.salba.com/
Hi Amanda! I very much enjoyed the Whole Body Action Plan this year. For me, an important tool in keeping up with a healthier lifestyle post-Plan is WholeLiving.com itself. I love the "My Collections," feature, where I've bookmarked articles, recipes, and fitness regimens from past newsletters. I check the website often and find myself going back to these articles as a way to ingrain their practices.
WholeLiving.com is a fantastic website! Participating in the community as well as reading the articles is a good strategy for me. Keep up the phenomonal work!
Thanks so much Elizabeth! I'm so glad the Collections feature is working well for you ... we will continue to improve the website and add more features that make it more user-friendly throughout the year, as well. We really appreciate your feedback!
I am very happy with my new way of eating.
The problem is to keep this program all year long, with so many temptations in life.
The fact that I lost 13 pounds with the Whole Body Action Plan, it's rewarding !!!
I think the key to be with the program is ANTICIPATION , yes it is!!!! I already experienced
when I don't prepare ahead of time I find myself looking for anything to eat !!
But when I have my food , vegetables and fruits ready is really easy !!!
Thank you for your support and I promise I will try my best to continue with the Plan.
