My goals for 2010 are to become a better cook (cook more healthy), to educate myself as much as I can about how food can help us get healthier and therefore live longer and be happier. To become more active as time goes on, and hopefully heal my knee pain without the need of surgery again. To motivate other people specially in my own family; I have a niece who is 7 years old and her weight is over 80, she is heavy and my daughter and I have decided to help her by teaching her how food is good for you, but we have to be careful on what and how much we eat; also about how important it is to be active.

I would like to join an online support group for people living with diabetes, were we can help each other out, also one that is focus on weight control with healthy eating focus on kids. As I told my mother just the other day, we grew up with nothing but home cooked meals, and all of us kids grew up healthy, it wasn't until we were on our own, that all of us have dealt with weight issues and healthy eating. Kids now a days are much heavier then when I was a kid, and lets face it our kids eat what we give them, we need to change this fast for the children.
my goals are definitely strengthen my core, lose 5lbs, meditate daily, get a blog up and running.
I definitely need to strengthen my core! I also aim to make better use of my time: less watching empty sitcoms, more bonding with friends and family, less aimlessly surfing the web, more working out - you get the idea.

As part of my plans for a better 2010, I've joined a pilates class twice a week and I've been taking walks more frequently. I'm also decorating my house in such a way that it privileges my priorities - no huge TVs, but plenty of bookshelves, for instance.
I like the idea of decorating "in such a way that it privileges my priorities." I'll have to think about that. Thanks!
I should probably post my goal, too! For now, my goal is to eat less meat and more fruits and vegetables and whole grains -- in fact, I'm going vegetarian for 40 days! Here's my blog post on the topic.

I also want to increase my core strength and become a faster runner. I'm competing in my second triathlon in May, and I want to beat my last race's running time of about 10 minutes per mile.

Thanks for sharing, everyone!

My goal is to get healthy. Getting healthy means I incorporate the Action Plan into my life as much as I can without getting overly stressed.

I'm giving the vegetarian route a trial as well. While I would still like to lose some weight, I'm hoping that will be achieved by a healthier diet. My overall goal is to live more in-line with my own beliefs, which includes going vegetarian. Best wishes to you on your endeavor. I'll have to check out your blog.
I have been unemployed since June and given my age (59) it's been difficult to get hired. I love to cook so I am going to start my own business being a Personal Chef, however, I feel I need "creds", so I'm going to college to get a Culinary Arts certificate. So far I'm learning a huge amount about ingredients, methods, and the best tools for cooking well.

I have been embracing a vegan diet for 6 months now and I love it! I watched a documentary on PBS entitled "Eating". It has changed my vision of health, food, diet, lifestyle, and the environment.

I also started running for the 1st time in my life. I've always been a walker. Running didn't do anything for me at all. I can go about 1/2 mile so far. My goal is to get on the CSU track starting this spring and be able to run 2 miles by the end of July.
My goal is to lose 15 pounds and then be able to keep it there while going out and eating at restaurants and socializing with friends. That means I have to keep up with my exercise (even change it up a bit it if I have plateau'd) and eating very healthy when I am not socialize. I work from my home and I travel a lot so it is easy to snack on bad things or too often. My goal is to stop the snacking and have control over what I eat.
just get healthier snacks to keep at home, this way you can snack and not feel bad about it, this is what I have done for me and for my kids, specially fruit, healthy bars, popcorn, vegetables so far it works, no one has gained any weight in the past year since I changed the snack options.
My goal for 2010 is to get to know what works best for my body. I want to become knowledgeable about where I am health-wise. My 47-year old husband is currently recovering from a massive stroke brought on by high blood pressure and cholesterol. I will be making dietary changes with him, but I need to know more about my health.
I just a got a jump-start of support! My church just formed a women's health and fitness small group to support one another in our health and wellness goals. We are organizing a "Biggest Losers" competition against the men's group based on the percentage of weight lost! We will also look into health issues and share ideas to help each other achieve our goals.
