Vegetarians may eat eggs dairy and fish, but vegans do not; they only eat plant-based foods. It's hard to be the latter when eating out, but it can be a fun challenge to find recipes that work and restaurants to eat at. I was a vegetarian for years after reading about hormones in meat, and since then the food we eat has been tampered with in many ways. Animals are not treated with antibiotics, and corporations are changing our plants to GMOs (genetically-modified organisms). I eat organic and local as much as I can. To learn more, read books by T. Colin Campbell, Caldwell Esselstyn, and Howard Lyman. Start with "The Skinny Bitch". It tells it like it is in a clever way. If you want to be thin and prevent heart disease, cancer, diabetes and other killers, become a vegan. Don't believe me? Watch the documentary, "Forks Over Knives."
