This Week's Assignment: Shift Your Attention

Whether you completed last month's Whole Body Action Plan or you're just joining us now, we hope you'll use this group as home base in your ongoing journey toward mind-body wellness. Check back weekly for new Action Plan assignments.

This week: Rather than letting yourself be consumed by negative stuff this week (angry boss, spilled coffee, lousy commute), take a moment each day to think of good things in your life: a finished project, a fun conversation, a delicious meal with friends, or even just a good night's sleep. By tuning in to happy events (or the upside of anything), you crowd out bad news, generate positive emotions, and bust stress hormones. Join this week's discussion here.

Previous assignments:
Clean Out Your Cosmetics
Eat Off the Good Plates
Push Past Your Plateau

Starting from the beginning?
If you didn't participate in our 28-day Whole Body Action Plan throughout January, you can still start up and follow along at any time, using the online plan, past blogs and discussion boards as a guide. And if you're already a graduate of the Whole Body Action Plan, tell us how you plan to maintain your new healthy habits throughout the year. (You can read blogger Caroline's recap of the plan here.)

Weekly Assignment: Boost Your Breakfast

February 14 - This week's assignment: During the 28-day Action Plan, you infused your diet with fruits and vegetables. But you may still be carb loading for the most important meal of your day.

Bagels, cereal, and other go-to morning foods can lead to weight gain and low energy, not only because of their excesses but because of what they're missing. Protein keeps your blood-sugar levels steady, reducing cravings all day,…

Sugar Free Candy?

Hi everyone!

I'm a fan of mint chocolate, and now that it's winter there is plenty of hot chocolate stashed in my office.  Hot Mint Chocolate is my once-a-week indulgence, and the mint flavor is provided by throwing in a couple of peppermint candies in my cup.  I've noticed CVS' store brand peppermint candies are made with Splenda.

I know Splenda has it's lovers and it's haters, but what's the deal with sugar free candy?  Do you think this is acce

right, well i am several days behind the rest of you, but i am getting through day 1 of detox quite happily. my head feels a bit fuzzy, my tongue feels very fuzzy, but all in all i don't have any strong urges to rampage through the grocery store and stuff my face with twinkies (actually that would be too weird, i've never even had a whole twinkie before)
ONWARDS!
