Never thought I would get to the point where I was "too fluffy", but here I am! I had the opportunity during the second week in May to have my cholesterol, triglyric levels, glucose levels, etc checked for free at work (no doctor co-pay!). I'm a teacher and a single parent - heck I'll take advantage of most things that are free! LOL Anyway, I received good news and bad news.
First the good news - my glucose levels are good. I'm very happy about that! Bad news - I'm 143.5 lbs (and stand at 5'3"), my BMI is 26.5 (maximum for my age & height is 25), my cholesterol levels are very high, and my triglyric levels are 246. I don't like to use the word "fat", so I'm using the word "fluffy". According to the nurse who went over my numbers with me, I'm too "fluffy".
So, here I am. A thirty-nine years old, single parent of a seventeen year old boy, and burned out teacher who finds herself to be too "fluffy". Now that I've acknowledged all of this, it's time to say what I plan to do about it!
One - I've identified my target weight goal as being 134.5 (which means I would like to lose 9 lbs in the next nine weeks). I'm combining the 10 Day Reboot Plan with the Best Bodies for Summer Plan.
Two - I've signed back up at my local community center to take Pilates and Yoga classes this summer - three pilates classes per week, and one yoga class each week.
Three - I will hike a small "mountain" that is close to my house once a week and stick with 10 Day Reboot menu plan for the rest of my summer vacation.
We'll see how things go. I'm looking forward to this! :)
