Deep thoughts...

Jane and I had a lovely girls' weekend while Theo went to a concert in Chicago. We were so busy playing and cleaning and re-organizing closets and walking and errands that I hardly thought about eating the whole time.Tonight, Theo came home. I wanted to treat him to a nice, home-cooked meal. I got some special olive bread at dean and deluca. I tossed an arugula salad with some lemon and shaved parmesan and plated some linguine with bolognese. It was the most I ate in one sitting since I don't…See More

Creature comforts

I am a perfectionist at heart and I hate to fail. Late last night, I completed caved over a cup of vanilla ice cream and I have been brooding about it ever since. There is no one harder on me than me. Vanilla ice cream!?! That's what I ended up with after all that restraint and will power! Yes, because it was there and I was mad and I felt defeated and I thought it would make me feel better.Well, there were major consequences - all self inflicted. Physically, I ended up bloated and with an…See More

Evening light

I did really well all weekend, in terms of eating and managing stress. I actually read 60 pages of a book, for pleasure. I took an hour nap both days, while Jane was napping. This instead of cleaning and straightening or e-mailing or calling people. I sincerely needed the down time this weekend.I am still amazed that I am not craving sugar the way I used to. Last night, on date night, I walked by at least five gelato places and it didn't occur to me to indulge. I did have a little pang outside…See More

Table art

We had another crazy day here and I continue to feel so proud of myself for staying true to the challenge. I think it's easier and easier because I am not craving food the way that I always did. My mother came to dinner tonight, so I wanted to cater to her palate. When I asked her what she would like to have, she said, "I like American food" and I know exactly what she was telling me. She's happy with whole foods, simple recipes, nothing too spicy or interesting, just the basics. To prepare, I…See More

TGIF

Posted on June 18, 2010 at 9:07pm 3 Comments

At about 4:30 today, I completely maxed out. I was toast. All set. All done. Fried. It looked like it had been beautiful day outside and I missed it. I was cooped up, frustrated, and short on temper. I could feel it - I was ramping up to melt down.

I cleaned off my desk, shut down my computer, took out the trash and locked the door to the office. The to do list was longer than it was as the start of the week, even…

Good morning Judi - good luck. My challenge is the exercise I hate it and it is SOOOO hot in Texas....I am going to use the kids WII Fit board and hula....maybe Jane needs a WII.
I don't know how they fit into the program but when I was trying to lose weight I used the Starbucks Vivanna smoothies. One was very filling and more than satisfied my hunger.
Good luck. You are the best for organizing and encouraging us.

Good morning, Judi. Well, we are off and hopefully moving. I have a few navigation questions maybe you can help me with. I posted a Blog this morning as well on my questions so we will see what comes back to me.

I need to find on the website the Menu/Meal Plan for day 5-7 of Week One and the Week 2-4. Where can I find that on here?

Also if someone gets back to you with a ready bought/store bought smoothie, let me know as well. I am going to make up a double batch smoothie this morning to take to work for this evening. The soups are little bit too out there for me. I will have to check out the recipe book or other things on this website and try and make a batch or 2 up and freeze them.

Take care and have a good morning!

Judi,

I do not know about the veggie smoothies, but I have started up my commitment to Weight Watchers by weighing in today! I will combine the programs to fit how I eat.

Go Girl!
