Today's menu: pea soup with carrot and celery, plus oven toasted bread lightly drizzled with truffle olive oil, followed by a hot cup of peppermint tea. Yummy and amazingly easy to put together.

6.8.10

Finally, Friday. I'll have a couple of easier days before I'm back to a hectic week of work (away from home).Today, I managed to get home at around 6.30pm. I contemplated the idea of going to the beach for a 30' walk, but ended up stuck in front of the computer. However, before I turned the computer on, I did a load of laundry and put away some clothes. While I was doing that, I noticed my closet was too full - meaning I had hidden clutter in there. I straightened my closet a little bit and…See More

Internet detox

I finally got down to doing a full-week internet detox. Not by sheer willpower unfortunately - I had a nasty stomach bug and almost landed in the hospital so turning the computer on was out of question. However, I have to say that if I knew the results were so good, I would have done it before willingly!I am one of those people who check their email countless times in a day and I completely lose track of time when using the internet, day after day. I receive tons of emails every day and not…See More

Starting over

After a few rough weeks, I started feeling as if I had completely fallen off the "Whole Living bandwagon". I even had my first flu in years! Well, it's never too late to start over, is it?So, today, when I managed to get off my bed, I bought some vitamins and logged on the Whole Living Community to see the rules for week 1. I've found some menus online that'll help me eat 5 portions of (different) fruits and veg a day and I've already put together a shopping list for when I go grocery shopping…See More

Who knew?

Who knew that if you keep your credit and debit card receipts all in one spot and check your banking statement every month rather than twice a year it only takes 10 minutes?

Cleaning products

I was reading one of the pledges here - Reevaluate your cleaning products - and it got me thinking how many cleaning products I own.

In the bathroom I've got a toilet bowl cleaner - the one with the funny tip on the bottle so you can squirt it right under the rim - and a powdered one for scrubbing the sink. In the kitchen I've got dishing washing liquid - obviously, a creamy cleaner for shining my sink and an orange-scented cleaning product for greasy surfaces - hello…
