Dear Patti, You are not whiney! You are observant. I believe your conscious thoughts do bring change. I'm really proud of you for continuing with yoga. A lot of people I know (starting with my husband) would not/could not even think of going…

I know exactly how it feels to pour your energy into the goal of losing weight; change your diet, exercise regularly, turn down every treat that crosses your path for months...only to have the visible results be very minor. I struggle with this…

Big hugs, Patti! Hang in there. You're not being whiney; acknowledging the struggle is part of healing too, I think.

Blue Tuesday

I am a bit blue today. I struggled with my yoga practice this morning. It's really interesting that overall I feel significantly better and my chronic pain is greatly improved, but I still struggle. My energy level is still low and I am still tired. It's improving by millimeters but at times this healing is tedious and wearing on my spirit.I am eating well but am still heavy. I know that as my body heals and this excess weight decides to finally come off that will really help. I'm trying hard…See More

For My Best Friend

I wrote the following exerpt this morning in answer to my best friend's email. We have been diet warriors for a very long time. Today is a day to reflect on our calming influences. My friend means everything to me and her friendship is one of the richest and most satisfying of my life.I am so unbelievably proud of you. This is how you are going to get well- by processing and getting to the heart of why you are burying yourself under 80lbs of fat. All these feelings are interconnected, the…See More

Life's Little Disappointments and Bruised Feelings

Life is messy. I say that at least once a week to myself and anyone foolish enough to listen. I stand by my profound pronouncement, life is messy and unpredictable. My feelings, and a bit of pride were bruised today. The circumstances hardly matter, as they are neither unique nor very interesting.Messy pronouncement being made, let me share that I did not immediately fall into a vat of ice cream or chocolate or anything food related. I did not choose to ruin my entire day nor wallow in a fit of…See More

Perfection.............tantalizing to daydream about, not too much personal experience with it in my real life.I had 2 cookies today and didn't feel a lick of guilt. I didn't exercise either- guess what? No guilt there either.I enjoyed the day. I knit, watched football- Go Vikes!I rested and relaxed. Hope you did too.PattiSee More
