"I have to admit that Weight Watchers online has been great for me to lose weight. I like the Daily Plate, but if you have an iPod, Lose It! is a free app that's worked well too."

Let me count the ways I love calories

I made a decision today. After weeks making small changes and still making unhealthy food choices I'm going to start counting calories again. I was doing ok with everything, incorporating meditation into my routine a few days a week, working out 3-4 times a week, eating more fruits and vegetables, reducing my processed food intake, even losing a few pounds. But then over the weekend my boyfriend and I celebrated the football game with a ridiculous amount of food. And I've been going out and…See More

Small Changes

I've been away for a little while...but I'm here and have been chugging away at this healthy eating thing little by little. After the detox my momentum sort of fell away and I had a house guest for most of Week 2, which meant going out and being tempted simply by being around people who are NOT trying to be healthy. And of course I'm easily influenced to eat ice cream, pizza and drink wine, part of my problem in general. BUT I have made some small changes to my habits and have managed to lose a…See More

Vegetables, why do you elude me?

Trying to keep up the good fight. As previously mentioned, I have a house guest this week so last night I made pizza, but with a whole wheat crust (dough from a bakery in my neighborhood), fresh mozzarella sparsely layered with tomatoes and basil (note: basil goes on after the pizza is cooked, otherwise it just crisps up and tastes bad, but you probably already knew that). And then of course I had to have a few glasses of wine to go with my masterpiece :)I'm not getting enough veggies, as…See More

Week 2 Challenges

Posted on January 12, 2010 at 10:30am 0 Comments

I feel like my body is processing food more efficiently since detoxing. Even though I didn't follow the plan completely (had one really bad afternoon), I still think it helped my body realign. And I feel like I'm losing weight, actually I've lost about 5 lbs since starting this program. Nice!

My main challenge right now is to get some exercise and continue meal planning. I have a house guest until Friday and I'm having some people over for dinner tonight. My guest wants pizza, so I'm… Read more

I encourage joining the gym near your place, I joined the YMCA in Greenpoint because it's a 10-minute walk from the office. I have no excuses now. Oh, and excuse me as I clean up that puddle all over your last post, it's just drool from the description of your delicious pizza!
