Adventures in Cast Iron Cooking!

For the past few years, I have been hearing about the benefits of cooking with a cast iron pan in comparison to all of the other ‘non-stick’ pans out there. Some of the benefits include:even cooking;the ability to move the pan from the stove top to the oven (or even BBQ); andreducing chemicals that may leach into your food from the ‘non-stick’/ Teflon coating on other pans.To continue reading, click: …See More

Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood

We have come a long way from those winter and early spring days when my son and I began exploring our newly inherited back garden. It has been so exciting to see some plants turn green, sprout leaves and, in some cases, flower. I will admit that I am a little…See More

The Art of Deception

In my household there are a lot of ‘food preferences’. I don’t eat beef or pork, but other than that I am a pretty adventurous eater. My two year old son has developed into a good eater but is still pretty particular eating only certain veggies. My husband is very particular, eating mainly meat, cheese and grain products. Needless to say, it can be quite difficult to get vegetables and legumes into their diets. To continue, click:…See More

A Touch of Grey

When you buy a resale home some call it ‘previously loved’, I think it should be termed “previously decorated’. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. The resale home that we recently bought is a combination of the two. To continue reading click:http://reallifeproject.wordpress.com/2012/04/29/a-touch-of-grey/See More

Clean Sweep!

A few months ago, I wrote about our post-move basement. We were trying to get it an organized and create a livable space. After I published my blog entry, I made an effort to follow the advice provided in one of the comments that I received. It was suggested that a way to reduce clutter is to get rid of 27 things per day. I found that most times that I began looking for my 27…See More

My Faux Spa

I used to be a self-declared ‘Product Junkie’. I loved to try new hair, skin care and make-up products all the time. Sure, I always had my tried, tested and true products, but I also would test drive new ones as they were released or based on positive recommendations.  As I have gotten a bit older (goodbye twenties!), and money and time have gotten a bit tighter (hello thirties…), I have gotten away from this hobby. To view more, click:…See More

The Trouble With 'Stuff'

Now that we are fairly settled into our new home, I decided to start to tackle the bottomless pit of extra boxes and ‘stuff’ that we have put into storage in a section of our basement. I would eventually like to get the space set up as a spare bedroom or even a playroom, but for now it is a bit of a junk pit. To continue to read, click...http://reallifeproject.wordpress.com/2012/02/25/the-trouble-with-stuff/See More

Rising to the Occasion

I have always been a bit afraid of working with yeast. To be honest, it gives me the creepy crawlies, especially the name ‘dry ACTIVE yeast’. It sounds like some kind of infestation that you do not want to mess with. Anytime that I am reviewing a recipe and it has yeast in it, I generally toss it aside and try to find something else. Having overcome my fear of making a pie from scratch – I thought I should venture on to yeast.First, I decided to make my own pizza crust based on a recipe that I…See More

What Is My Balance?

I have been blogging for just over six months now. This week I have been re-examining the parameters of my blog and thus thinking a lot about wellness and balance. To me, wellness is finding balance. I think a life in balance includes mind, body and soul all being fulfilled equally. In this way, balance is fleeting and really a constant goal. Any change in your life can push you out of balance. To continue reading, click:…See More

The Midnight Visitor

Just around midnight, I hear a familiar sequence of sounds – a little cry, a door opening, and then the pitter-patter of feet. If I look towards my bedroom door, I can see a figure standing there and then moving towards the bed. To continue reading, click:http://reallifeproject.wordpress.com/2012/01/27/the-midnight-visitor/See More

Run, Baby, Run

Since moving to my new home in a new town, I have been struggling to find a fitness routine. I thought once we moved I would buy a treadmill to help me along with workouts or walk diligently each day on my lunch break. However, between the cost and space associated with the treadmill and the fact that my lunch breaks seem to be non-existent, I haven’t been able to get consistent exercise.

'Our Pickiness is Making Us Poor!'

Posted on July 2, 2012 at 7:53pm 1 Comment

That was the comment that I made to my husband on the way to our car leaving the grocery store.  Groceries seem to be costing us a fortune lately, no matter where we shop, and I was ranting that if we didn’t have such picky tastes we could save a lot more money.

Greetings from the Tampa Bay :) My name is Lea, and I am the author of the Mother Baby Child Blog - http://motherbabychildblog.com. I started this blog to share my experience in having a baby just before my 1st son was about to turn 18 years old, as well as what life is like as a married mom after being single for so many years. I also blog about Christianity, baby and child stages, homeschooling, ADHD, Autism, Blog Marketing, etc. I share a lot on that blog during the non-summer seasons.

I also have a new healthy lifestyle and 90 day weight loss challenge blog - http://www.loseweightgethealthyfeelgreat.com - to accompany my Skinny Body business. I am working hard to complete the design of this new blog, so that I can provide valuable health and linformation, as well as my experience with our 90 day weight loss challenge. I gained quite a bit with this last baby, so I am struggling along with it. The plus is that we have gone all natural / organic foods and started an organic garden. It's lots of fun for the family, plus it's awesome to provide the children with food that I know is pesticide free.

I invite you to explore my blogs and provide your feedback.

Now that my baby is older, I have more time to meet more people that are genuinely interested in being as healthy as they can be. I am really excited about this!

I look forward to networking with you :)

Hugs & Blessings!
