The Heat Is On!

I've been trying to work a regular yoga class into my schedule (especially with marathon training), and it's been tough, to say the least. My schedule is fairly irregular, with classes, clients, and office work at my church; if nothing else, I've been making time to stretch on my own each day. Something I've wanted to try for a few months, however, is hot yoga. My gym doesn't offer hot yoga classes, so I started looking into studios in Atlanta that offer hot yoga classes that I could purchase…See More

On the Road to Healing

In an effort to avoid future running-related injuries (and to help expedite the healing process of my tight muscles), I decided to make an educated purchase:It's no big secret that Pilates is a great tool for increasing flexibility, strength, and enhancing functional…See More

Turning A Corner

As I shared earlier in the week, it's been a challenging time for me with regard to our marathon training. I've had to push pause on my training due to some tightness and inflammation of the tendons around my left knee. And it's been a big let down to wake up each morning and still not have full range of motion and feel pain.I've spent this week focusing my workouts on my upper body and core, trying to avoid knee bending exercises. It's tough to avoid bending your knees, if you were wondering.…See More

Sitting on the Sidelines

I've struggled a bit this year with pain - during and after runs, namely. It's been frustrating and I've had to take more time off than I wanted over the last six months. It's a terrible feeling to have the desire to run and to find yourself sidelined by a potential injury. After listening to me whimper and complain for almost a week, my husband put his foot down on Friday and demanded I get a massage. So I did. And it helped. It helped a lot, especially since I made things around my knee worse…See More

The Importance of Body Care

As most of you know, my husband and I are training for the Kiawah Island Marathon. And if you're a runner (of any distance), you know how important it is to stretch after a run. And if you've been reading my posts this year, you know this is an area in which I severely lack discipline. And I'm totally paying for it. You reap what you sow, right?Things came to a head this week when I had a tough time even lifting my left leg. Forget standing up to walk; it became easier to just remain standing…See More

Meet Pinky

You know I try to spend some time with the foam roller each day, especially after a run. Self-massage and self-myofascial release are important to the end of a workout. With flexibility being one of the four pillars of physical fitness, smoothing out tight muscles helps with flexibility later. So when my husband brought home this little gem on Monday, I was pretty stoked.Meet Pinky!Pinky is…See More

My 5k Marathon

I was pretty tired this morning. Today's training was three miles.One. Two. Three. We ran five on Tuesday morning. Five miles is two more than three. Why was three so hard this morning? Oh yeah, because I was tired.I had the thought that I shouldn't run today. That I should go to a spin class instead. Take the day off (somewhat). But it was 5:20 when I woke up, and the class starts at 5:45. It takes about seven minutes to get to the gym, plus brushing teeth, getting dressed, and wanting to get…See More

Happy Labor Day!

I know it's a day late, but Labor Day was a sort of busy day in our home this year. My husband and I ran a local running store-sponsored 10k to celebrate the long weekend. Normally a 10k isn't too difficult, but we also did an 11-mile long run for our marathon training on Saturday. We had some tired legs going into the 10k on Monday morning. We also had some lofty goals. We both wanted to PR in this 10k. The July 4th race we ran was a PR for me, but it was a tough race for both of us. And we…See More

Find Something. Enjoy it. Keep Doing It.

Have you ever wondered what the key to consistent exercise adherence is? This NYT blog post touches on something I believe to be true - that people will do what they enjoy. It's a lot of the message I try to constantly communicate to clients - tell me what you like to do and we'll figure out a way to make it exercise so you can do something you enjoy. The other thing I've noticed is that group…See More

Greetings from the Tampa Bay :) My name is Lea, and I am the author of the Mother Baby Child Blog - http://motherbabychildblog.com. I started this blog to share my experience in having a baby just before my 1st son was about to turn 18 years old, as well as what life is like as a married mom after being single for so many years. I also blog about Christianity, baby and child stages, homeschooling, ADHD, Autism, Blog Marketing, etc. I share a lot on that blog during the non-summer seasons.

I also have a new healthy lifestyle and 90 day weight loss challenge blog - http://www.loseweightgethealthyfeelgreat.com - to accompany my Skinny Body business. I am working hard to complete the design of this new blog, so that I can provide valuable health and linformation, as well as my experience with our 90 day weight loss challenge. I gained quite a bit with this last baby, so I am struggling along with it. The plus is that we have gone all natural / organic foods and started an organic garden. It's lots of fun for the family, plus it's awesome to provide the children with food that I know is pesticide free.

I invite you to explore my blogs and provide your feedback.

Now that my baby is older, I have more time to meet more people that are genuinely interested in being as healthy as they can be. I am really excited about this!

I look forward to networking with you :)

Hugs & Blessings!

Hi Tiffany! I'm new to this online community & am seeking connections in the Atlanta area. It's awesome & inspiring to see how active you've been with your posts! I've made 2 so far and invite you to take a look when you have a chance. I also recommend that you visit the community inspiration center Muse for Life in Sandy Springs. Working with them is transforming my life. I think anyone involved in the Whole Living community will benefit as well. Peace & Blessings!
