This long weekend allowed me time for some things not normally in my routine. Time for paddling a new river with my husband, exploring where we've never been before. Time to snuggle with my daughter as she woke up each morning. Time to make the last of the zucchini into refrigerator pickles. Time to gather my craft supplies and take inventory, prepare for holiday crafting.

I didn't drown during the "discover scuba" class, since I'm here to tell the story. My instructor called all the other instructors over to watch, because he's never in 40 years seen someone with such complete, total negative bouyancy. They checked my bouyancy vest because they were sure it was leaking, since I sank straight to the bottom every time. Every time. Every single time,.
