Back On Track

Leveraging Your Amazing YOU Into Your Business

This question keeps popping up so I just had to write about it!

Danielle LaPorte’s (http://www.daniellelaporte.com/ ) Spark Kit asks:

"What do you think your form of genius is?"

"What are you amazing at?"

Many respond: “my courage, my kindness, my caring, my personality, my sense of humor” and then kinda scratch their head… “but how do I leverage these qualities in my business?”

More often…

What Is My Balance?

I have been blogging for just over six months now. This week I have been re-examining the parameters of my blog and thus thinking a lot about wellness and balance.

To me, wellness is finding balance. I think a life in balance includes mind, body and soul all being fulfilled equally. In this way, balance is fleeting and really a constant goal. Any change in your life can push you out of balance.

Why Setting Playdates will Change Your Life

Do you ever wish yourself back into your childhood days where you didn’t feel burdened by work, family and financial obligations?  Or do you feel like you’re life is just career, family and long to-do lists leaving you stressed to the max?   This is something I continually hear from my women clients.

While they have a good career, relationship and friends, there never seems to be enough time, money or opportunities to help them really get out of the sense of overwhelm.  Let’s be…

Success at Work: Leadership Mantra

Today I was working on a presentation for some more junior folks on my team about the project I am working on. I decided to add some tips on "how" I was navigating challenges in my current project, and I thought I would share with the community as well. It's a strategic leadership role, and these tidbits will definitely become part of my leadership mantra.

Road to Recovery Part 2: Find an Unexpected Mentor and Discover What Really Motivates me

Last Friday I had lunch with an old client. I haven’t had much contact with him in the last five years so I wanted to catch up. He’s been pretty successful since we last spoke, so I wanted to catch up on his journey and also catch him up on my adventures.

He talked about his evolution to find what drove him and made him happy every day at work. He said he had reached a point a few years ago where he dreaded going into work every day. He thought he was working in an area that didn’t…

I'm not a good juggler.

My plate is full.  Some would say that it is too full.  When I worked outside the home I was the best at doing a million things at once.  Plan a presentation while finalizing analysis of my new program design. A snap.  Come home and make dinner while picking up the apartment and writing out a few checks before my husband arrived. Did it. But things have changed and I feel frustrated.

Week 3, Day 3: Visualize yourself doing work you love

I'm fortunate to be taking some time off before I find my next position.  Instead of jumping immediately to the next thing, I really wanted to explore what matters most to me.  So far, I have found that the most important thing to is to find work that I love... that really inspires me.

Do you love your work?

To Eat or Not to Eat- Not Really A Question

So I came into work this morning ready to take on the day. It's sunny out, not overly cold, and the middle of the week, which means we're a safe distance from Monday. I had a cup of tea and granola for breakfast and a banana. I felt full and awake. Then I sat down to my computer and my email is not sending or receiving messages. To make matters worse, our art director has put out a lovely display that he calls "The Candy Buffet".… Read more
