Last night I went to a "getting to know you" happy hour for a volunteer organization that I have recently joined, and something special really caught my attention.  Mixed in with all the typical "girl talk", I heard a lot of big dreams and ambitions.  One of the women there had just launched her own event planning business, and was talking about her future plans for it; someone else chimed in and said that she would like to one day follow a similar path and was asking for advice.  I thought it was really inspiring, especially in this economy, to hear about these women pursuing their dreams.  Hope some of you are doing that too!

Catherine - I have lots of ideas about projects I would love to pursue someday too.  Just keep them on your mental list and chip away!

Audrey, good for you for joining this volunteer group, sounds great! I love to hear people’s inspiring stories and their goals! I have so many ideas in my head of different things I would love to pursue in the future but they sometimes seem so unattainable. Baby steps and maybe someday I’ll get there!

Wow, what a cool pro bono project!  That must be so satisfying.  Yes, this group is all-women, and we focus on helping children and families in need.

Audrey, congratulations on joining the volunteer organization!  That is truly wonderful.  Does it have a special focus?  Is it comprised of all women?  It sounds like a wonderful group to be a part of.  I hope you enjoy it.  I agree with your comments on how inspiring it is to learn about dreams and ambitions of others - especially when they have put those plans into action!  I represent a nonprofit corporation pro bono and I just love meeting with them - it is a group of women who met at a church and expanded their idea to create a community resource center, which is operating successfully as we speak!  They have such strong hearts and it is a joy to watch people who want to help others and are happy with what they are doing.  Good luck with the organization - I'd love to hear about your projects and events!!   :)
