Here I am again. My first post and my first accepted challenge was to Be in the Moment. I wasn't doing such a good job the other day, but today I nailed it! Today, I spent a couple hours getting my hair cut and colored (time to get rid of a little gray), and more importantly, I left my cell phone turned off. I didn't even check on it while I was waiting for the color to set. Granted, I was tempted, but I let it go and just relaxed reading a magazine. AND, I carried it even further by setting my cell phone aside while at home tonight. Recently I got a new phone and have gotten in the habit of checking it regularly for text messages and checking Facebook, etc. So this has been very liberating.
I did alright with yesterday's challenge; to exercise/activate/open my Third Chakra. I am existing under an old 3rd level Reiki training. I say "old" because I really only ever used it for myself and a few family members. And it has been sort of dormant for awhile. Recently, I bought a wonderful CD of music tuned to the chakras. I play it in my car, especially on long drives so I can listen to all of it. And the exercises I do each morning to strenghten my core, are quite similar, if not exact, matches to the 3rd chakra exercises. So this was an easy challenge to accept.
While I might not do the challenges I accept on the day I accept them, I am ok with doing them withing a couple days. For me, it is still better than not accepting them or acting on them at all. I am actually rather content with myself for taking this step at this time of year. This is something I might do in the beginning of a new year and make it last until, oh...maybe March.
Today's challenge? Sadly, this may be the first year my family has not carved pumpkins, so no seeds to roast. My girls are grown and job and other family issues took priority this year and pumpkins fell by the wayside. We have roasted many pumpkins seeds in our time and it has always been a fun family favorite follow up to the pumpkin carving tradition.
