I had an interesting experience last week.

Its not something new or exciting or earth shattering... In fact, it's a common, relatable event. As I was hanging out in my kitchen, I noticed there were crumbs on my feet. I was walking around and crumbs were stuck to the bottom of my feet and I was annoyed.

There's nothing exciting or interesting about this- I know, but read on!

What was interesting, profound and new to my mind....was when I noticed I semi-conciously brushed the crumbs off of each foot back onto the floor as I have done for forever....

Brushing them back onto the floor isn't going to "help" the situation. That action or lack of action- will simply keep me annoyed if I keep stepping on them, which is extremely likely. Why didn't I simply brush them off my feet into the trash can? And, why didn't I consider taking another step towards ending this, at least sort term- by sweeping or vacuuming the area?

How many other habits do I have that cause my own irritation, stress, annoyance, etc that I "brush off" instead of dealing with????

Its interesting... and I'm noticing~

I read your post and couldn't agree more. Sometimes I think it easier to brush something aside than to deal with it because it may make us notice other things we've been ignoring.

I'm trying to tackle one small issue every day. It's working, but it's tough. Often it brings up feelings/issues I'm too exhausted to face.
