i've been on a high fiber detox diet for the past 3 days now and the only slip up i've had was the starburst jelly bean situation i had last night. i was pmsing like godzilla/janice dickinson/something beastly and my options for something satisfying-sweet were starburst jelly beans, cream cheese dessert bars, toffee bars, something that resembled a chocolate poptart or danish (obviously my move from minneapolis to the south has brought on these paula deen like thigh blasters). naturally i thought the safest option was jelly beans. sugar & high fructose corn syrup? yes. hydrogenated fats, milk chocolate, dairy & god knows what? no. so boo/yay me! other than that the past 3 days have been full of pineapple, grapefruit, organic soy yogurt, pumpkin seeds, steamed vegetables & homemade tuscan white bean soup. i'm not going to start the liquid version until friday because tomorrow le boy & i are going to make a romantic breakfast together after a morning sauna/bubble bath. the menu looks as is:
*old fashioned oatmeal w/ honey & strawberries.
*morning star soysage links.
*cut papaya.
*steamed potato slices w/ italian seasoning.

yummm...i want it to be morning now! then for lunch & dinner i will probably make curried carrots. nom nom nom nom nom.
but along with all of this i've been taking the 14 day acai berry cleanse & have to believe that after these 14 days my internal being should be sparkling.

now time for a glass of iced peppermint tea, a session of yoga & possibly kitchen duties. blah.

Dear Kristin, Your comments are amusing! I like the "thigh blasters" bit. I think you must love food! I never plan a menu like that. And your picture, ironic as it is, shows someone who adores food in all its forms. Good luck on the detox. I just started the liquid diet today; I spent the first few days switching over to healthy foods.
