^ Jamie says forget expensive jewelry boxes--use egg cartons! I stored two open in my drawer for necklaces and earrings. The plastic ones are great b/c you have egg cups on both sides. But the flat lid on the paper ones is great for keeping larger items in. ^

^ Don't toss those jars! They're perfect for storing cotton pads, bars of soap, you name it. ^

^ Love these wide-mouth jars for storing makeup brushes and lip glosses. I have an absurd amount of lip glosses. Don't ask. i can't get enough. ^

^ I use mineral makeup, and it involves lots of little round cases, and I get so sick of looking at them cluttering up my glass shelves. So, I shopped my kitchen and discovered two large shallow hard plastic tupperware-type containers that I never use for food. Voila! Makeup trays that store in this little bathroom chest I have. So they're out of sight. LOVE it. ^
So just do it. One cabinet at a time or you'll be overdone. But just take EVERYTHING out, clean the shelves, and then only put back what you use. Another tip from Jamie: If you use one of those mirrored medicine cabinets with different doors, categorize your personal care items by morning/evening/weekly use so that rather than fish around for stuff, you have it right there, when you need it.
Do it. You'll feel great.
Any other tips or tricks? Please share! Send pictures! Love the found-item-as-storage. I want your ideas too.
