There's a fascinating photo gallery in The New York Times (posted yesterday) by the photographer Zed Nelson about how our concept of what's beautiful globally is becoming homogenized. Flipping though the photos, I was struck by what an eerie commentary it is on how far people will go for the love of beauty.

Flip through it here and let me know what you think.

Creepy. Definitely creepy. Well, most of them. Surgery is a scary thing and usually the outcome is freakier than the original. Don't mess with your face! Beauty is being able to accept yourself and wear it proud (this coming from someone who regularly wants a bigger chest...naturally, of course, ARGH.)

Thanks for this on beauty! I struggle with make up so much and really need and want to find something healthy for my face. I do not put any chemical creams on at all and only use olive oil for moisturizer and I take my Vidazorb OPC age defense probiotic everyday. I want to take of my skin and my whole body. Beauty is funny and I have found that I just have no interest in magazine covers or celeb photos because so much of what we see is either Photoshop or they use creams or surgical methods maybe? You just never know. I just decided it is better to take care of my body and not worry about media stuff.
