No, just kidding. But Day 1 (I started early) isn't actually too bad at all!
The details:
breakfast... mighty mango smoothie (store-bought, but oh well) & pomegranate pizazz herbal tea (or some such similar name)
mid-morning snack... handful of red grapes (the ol' stomach started growling loudly during a meeting so i figured i'd better do something)
lunch... DELICIOUS quinoa salad with toasted almonds
afternoon snack... small handful of almonds (they are salted but shhh) & cup of green tea with agave syrup (mostly I drink my tea unsweetened but straight up green is usually too bitter for me)
For dinner tonight will be a 10 bean soup. We got a package of dried beans for Christmas that came with instructions for this simple soup. Off the top of my head I think you add diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, etc. (on the OK list!) and probably some vegetable broth of some sort. Looking forward to it as it's a meal we would have made anyway even without the detox, so it doesn't actually feel like a sacrifice. Of course I would have paired it with a hearty piece of bread and if I was feeling extra indulgent, a glass of wine and cookie for dessert but I'm sure I won't miss those things... Dot dot dot. Right.
But really kiddos, I'm pretty sure I can make it through Day 1 and that's coming from a girl who likes to graze throughout the day, loves bread & cheese & eggs & DESSERT. IfI'm making it through just fine, everyone can. Just a little detoxification to break some habits and clean out the system. Then onto new healthier habits that will allow for a sweet treat or cup of coffee every once and awhile :)
