Jamie Oliver Tackles the Unhealthiest City in America

Tonight Jamie Oliver's new show, Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution will premiere on ABC at 8pm EST. Seriously, this is not a shameless plug for some TV show, I honestly believe that everyone should try and watch this program, it's truly a breath of fresh air in this obesity-riddled country.

The six episode series will follow the celeb chef as he attempts to bring change to Huntington, WV, dubbed "the unhealthiest city in America" by the Associate Press. Oliver's main focus will be on overhauling school lunches and family nutrition. Sounds pretty ambitious right? Well, luckily Oliver has experience with this sort of thing, this concept is loosely based on Oliver's U.K. series Jamie's Ministry of Food and Jamie's School Dinners, which were both aimed at improving children's nutrition in the schools across the pond.

Now I'm not so naive to think that everyone will be home plopped in front of the TV at 8pm on a Friday night, but at the very least people set your DVR's, Tivo's, or look it up on Hulu. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Ahh I watched the sneak peek premier on Sunday and it's a great show. The lunch ladies were so unwilling to accept change, and laughed at the idea that you could feed a large group of people something fresh and healthy as opposed to frozen grease. (the kids were being served pizza at 9am)

Suuch a good show- Jamie cried which was a little awkward but it's nice to watch someone who not only cares, but is coming up with REAL, DOABLE solutions to the problem. He makes it look easy- definitely something worth DVRing!
