Apples provide generous doses of fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants -- including a special group of antioxidants, called flavanoids, that reduce the risk of heart disease. They're so abundant year-round that they're easy to take for granted. But once you have a fresh-picked fall apple, you'll remember how much you've missed them since last year.
