Three snow days. That's all it took to knock me entirely off the challenge. With three young children at home, there was no time to plan for or prepare new recipes. Assuming the Cat/Cow pose was seen as an open offer to give horsey rides. My husband was also on the road, so a self-pitying me took refuge in a cache of truly lovely chocolates and cheeses left over from the holidays. (I guess that's why I was supposed to clean out my cabinets before Day 1.)

On the plus side, we got in some glorious sledding before the windchill dropped to -13F. The neighbor plowed my quarter-mile driveway so I didn't have attempt the feat myself with our tractor. And the kids let me take naps.

But what to do now? I've re-toxed myself, so should I re-detox? Or can I pick up where I left off? What do you think?

I'm in the same boat, Anne.  Snow day yesterday  -- I caved and had a big bowl of homemake popcorn while watching The Fantastic Mr.Fox with the kids (highly recommended) and two slices of homemade pizza.

At least there weren't added preservatives, I supposed.  The pizza did induce a food coma and I napped for two hours in the afternoon.  But, balanced with a vigorous snowshoe hike and some leftover Millet Bowl, I didn't get too hard on myself.

I'm considering staying on the detox for another week.  I've gained back the four pounds I *lost* last week anyway.  The recipes have been really delicious and, frankly, I don't like feeling hungry.

Best of luck with the driveway .. we're in a similar situation in my neck of the woods.

Thanks for your support - I will blaze ahead. And yes - all that cheese wreaked havoc on my system. I'm not sure if it was the dairy or the fat, but lesson learned!

I agree with Kristin - what you ate will pass through your system in 24 hrs. anyway, and you've already laid a good foundation. Did you have any aftereffects from the sugar and dairy?

I feel your pain.  We had two snow days this week and  my boys were bouncing off the walls.  I broke down and had a few 'snacks' (i.e., Graham Crackers and Nutela)  and peanut butter probably loaded with stuff that's not natural.  I just going to keep plowing ahead like there was no hiccup.  Good luck!
