Yep. It was me.
I'm not quite sure how it happened. Monday I was still doing great. I decided to extend the detox a couple more days (I felt insanely guilty for each all those cookies). I did my yoga video Monday night and I felt wonderful. I was still on a roll on Tuesday, but I skipped my upper body workout.
Fast forward to today. I haven't done any exercise since last Monday. A whole week! I've also indulged in some of my no-no foods: beer, chocolate and cheese. In fact, yesterday I ate wings, a flatbread sandwich and beer at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was heavenly. But (and its a big but) I don't feel nearly as good as I was at this time last week. My energy is completely sapped. I slept until 10:30 today, and felt like taking a nap at 1:00.
I really wanted to give up. I thought, "I'll just stop blogging and get back on track on my own time". But then I realized that this plan isn't just a diet that lasts for a month. It's about eating the right foods in moderation, getting exercise, building muscle, living stress free, and feeling good about yourself, and it's supposed to be (at least for me) a lifetime commitment. So really, in the grand scheme of things, slipping up for a week isn't really that big of a deal.
After this breakthrough, I decided I would make enchiladas for dinner. They're full of cheese, sauce and refried bean...and I'm going to put sour cream on top. Hmmmm.
Tomorrow. I promise I'll be completely back to the plan tomorrow.
