Sunday, May 30: Take a Hike! (Or Plan One Soon)

A holiday weekend is the perfect time to grab your best buds, your kids, or your dog, and hit the trails for some fresh air and a mind-and-body workout like no other. Today's challenge: Take a hike.

If you're not quite ready to head for the hills yet (No gear? Out of shape? Not sure where to go?), take one step today toward planning a hike in the near future. Whether it's getting a group together, researching trails near your home, putting the date on your calendar, or making the first moves in getting physically prepared, do one small thing to put your plan into motion today. In my town, I have this 9 mile loop that I like to walk. My husband and I walked it today for the first time this year. It was perfect...68 degrees and sunny with just enough breeze to keep the bugs away. It gave us a chance to just be together. So excited about the daily challenges!!

My husband and I have recently started to hike along the Erie Canal. What a great spot!
