When people ask themselves, "Will I?" rather than saying "I will," before doing a task, they perform that task better, according to a recent study published in the journal Psychological Science. Researchers say pausing to ask yourself if you'll do something triggers self-motivation.
@Kim Andrews....luv your post. I think we can all use a dose of daily affirmations. Sometimes we just have to look at things more positively. Sometimes life can make you feel down. But those are only moments.......they don't last forever. :)
Tomorrow's plan........I am working out first thing in the morning. :)

As I've mentioned in a previous post, it seems that sometimes the daily challenges tap in to what I've already done, or what I'm about to do. Saturday, I attended a career counseling seminar about affirmations; taking care of yourself when looking for a job. Part of the exercises were were given were to take negative thoughts that we've had when searching for a job-the feeling of rejection, being alone, embarrassment, etc.-and turn them into positive actions. So rather than me thinking "in this economy, I will never find a decent job," the turn-around becomes "I am going to land a great position doing what I enjoy and feel most productive doing." Anne-Margaret, you can say "I am going to run 3 miles tonight," rather than "I will run 3 miles tonight." Act as if you are going to do it, to motivate yourself to do it. If you don't actually run 3 miles, at least the thought should motivate you to go out and run however long you want to run.
Not sure how this one works? I would think that asking myself the questions opens up the possibility for me to say, "No"? Will I go for a run tonight vs. I will run 3 miles tonight. Thoughts anyone?

I started doing this this morning without even reading this tip - go figure! I woke up & asked myself "Will I do my strength training & yoga this morning?" ... as you might have guessed, I did it :)
