"Imagine you're Jacques Cousteau exploring a reef," advises Elisha Goldstein, a psychologist in Los Angeles and coauthor of "A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook." "You might realize there are things you've been missing, like tasting your food or having a meaningful conversation. Is this a habit you could start doing every day?
At the end of the day, I like thinking back & write about it. It is like my introspection of what is going on.... It helps me "SEEING" better how my personal attitude can transform any situation that I am facing. I like to be thankful for what I have or who I am becoming. I like thinking of the qualities (but also skills) that I want for myself & strive achieving it. I have improved a lot with patience & have seized the moment of fun or wonder thanks to my grandchildren. I owe them tremendously. They are a blessing to me. This is the reason why I cease all the opportunities to be with them.
Turn off the phone is not a biggie for me, but be in the moment is - my mind is often wondering to other thoughts instead of focusing on the task at hand. I am especially guilty of eating my lunch at my desk. Today I will take the time to enjoy my lunch - making it the focus of what I am doing at that moment! Thanks Whole Living!
