We went to the Sandy Springs Farmers Market on Saturday to pick up some tasty produce and get a cup of coffee after the boot camp. Neil decided he needed a little something to eat, so he settled upon a spinach artichoke hand pie from Bella's Best Organic Gourmet Goodies.

The tasty, buttery pastry. Not healthy.

The market was packed when we arrived around 10:30. It makes me happy to see so many people shopping at a local market of this nature. More shoppers means better sales for the farmers and vendors who make our food. More sales means lower prices in some cases, which is good. Most vendors were already sold out of lettuce and the one farmer who had strawberries was out of those, too!

Good to see so many people out at the market.

Do you have a favorite farmers market in your city? If so, what is your favorite market purchase?

My city has a small one but I find it a bit disappointing. We went a few times last year and they barely had anything. The town next to us has a few farms so we take a trip every weekend out to the farm to buy local fruits, veggies, cheeses, eggs etc. There is nothing like fresh items from the farm. I do wish our farmers market was a bit better.
