We drink it to calm our nerves, but we shouldn’t overlook its ability to aid digestion too. Today's challenge: Sip some chamomile tea.

One of the best herbal remedies for indigestion, chamomile tea contains essential oils and flavanoids, which relax smooth muscles in the digestive tract to relieve pain and cramping, and promote normal peristalsis (the contractions of your intestinal tract that move food along).

Tomorrow's challenge: Try a tincture.

Yesterday's challenge: Care for your nails.

I just have to follow-up with all of you. I have been enjoying my chamomile tea for the past two nights!! I come home from the office, warm up my water, and enjoy a hot cup of tea. It has been very relaxing and it keeps me away from the red wine!!! Thanks for the great idea!

I can't drink chamomile tea; I'm allergic to it, and other plants/fruits in it's family, including ragweed & cantaloupe. Funny, though,I'm not allergic to echinacea, which is also in the same family. Ginger works better for indigestion anyway, as does peppermint. My favorite brands of tea are those made from the whole leaves, like Mighty Leaf tea, or Two Leaves and a Bud (however, they can be pricey). Yogi Tea, although not whole leaf, is also a great brand, and they work really well. Their Stomach Ease tea, which has ginger root, licorice root, fennel seed, cardamom seed, coriander seed, peppermint leaf, and pepper, really does soothe an upset stomach.

I love this tea, always drink it, give to kids when they have gas problems, and they always feel better. I like it but have to drink at night, cause it will make me sleepy during the daytime, unless I need it for stomach relief

I drink chamomile pretty regularly. I've always understood it to be a diuretic, so I don't drink it too close to bedtime, otherwise I'm up in the middle of the night. (No, I'm really not that old.)

My favorites are plain chamomile buds (purchased from a tea, health-food, or natural-foods store) or Tazo Calm, which is a blend.

I am more than happy to sip Chamomile tea while looking at my freshly painted nails.

Amanda, I love Allegro Fine Teas. My favorite is Organic Happy Tummy (with ginger and mint). They also make a nice chamomile mint.

I have been trying to drink more tea (instead of coffee or red wine - depending on the time of day). I have a cupboard full of tea - one of them must be chamomile right? I will let you know when I get home.

Victoria - I too feel your pain - my Comcast internet was out last night - I couldn't get into my persona e-mails. Good thing I wasn't looking forward to Cyber Monday sales :)

Sandra, here's an article with a few specific tea brands that we love (including Mighty Leaf chamomile citrus), but we haven't done an update in a few years. Anyone else have suggestions? http://www.wholeliving.com/article/tea-for-you

Does anyone know if it matters what brand of Chamomile tea you drink? I love it - I drink at least 2 cups per day. I'm almost out, so I'm going shopping soon. Just wondering if I should shell out extra cash for this tea, or get the regular ol'store brand... Thanks!

I prepare it as a drink from time to time but I mostly used it to rinse my hair.
I will drink chamomile tea instead of chewing calcium tablets today :D
