Is there anything more beautiful than the sky just as the sun is setting in the wintertime? When there is still enough light to see but dark enough that traffic would need turn on their headlights. When you can see the outline of the trees but not any details. When you're only outside for a minute or two and your family waits inside for you to come back inside to begin preparing dinner. There is a stillness, a peacefulness that comes with winter that we don't experience during the other seasons.
As we enter 2012, we are all focused on our resolutions - what we did right in 2011 that we want to carry into the new year as well as what we would rather change and improve upon. We're getting ready to begin our new eating/exercise plans. The holidays are just about over and it's time for "real life" to set back in and all the hustle and bustle that comes along with that. But one night soon, take a moment in the evening to go outside and take in a little bit of that beauty. You'll be so glad you did.
